Woodland Hills Nature Park, Farmington Hills, MI
This park was a great visit! Very beautiful park/nature preserve and an easy walk/hike. Highly recommend.
The 74 acre nature preserve with 1.7 miles of trails is great for birding watching and photography. Trails are clearly defined and easy to follow:
- Beech-Maple Trail .4 miles
- Dogwood Trail .4 miles
- Goldenrod Trail .3 miles
- Sumac Trail .2 miles
- Wildflower Trail .2 miles
There is easy parking, a porta-potty restroom when you first enter. THe trails are meandering and at points follow a creek tributary of the Rouge River. The preserve is home to many frogs and toads, as well as waterfowl, Blue and Green Herons and Egrets at the pond. There is both woods and meadows in the park as well as several bridges.
The park is open 8:00 AM to dusk and bicycles and pets are prohibited.
