Avon Nature Area, Rochester Hills, MI: Avon Nature Trail Rochester Hills

The Avon Nature Area is a 102.5 acre nature area that boasts several hiking trails, a pond, a picnic area and an Environmental Education Center. Fishing is permitted in the Clinton River so long as DNR regulations are followed, and there are several benches and picnic tables for relaxing and observing nature. Visitors can see native Michigan plants and trees and enjoy viewing animals like deer, squirrels, great blue herons and even great horned owls. Restrooms are available at City Hall and the Environmental Education Center during business hours, and free parking is available by the Environmental Education Center and City Hall.

Three trails in the area are named: the Riverside trail which is 3/4 mile, the Highlands trail which is 1/2 mile and the Deer trail which is 1/3 mile long. Pets and bicyles are not allowed in the area.
